Happy New Year …celebrating the first full moon of 2018!
 
This Full Moon is in water sign Cancer, which is the Moon’s own sign. The Cancer Moon feels deeply. This brings extra emphasis on the lunar influences of home, roots and family. There is a strong need to feel safe, nurtured and supported emotionally.

Opposing this Moon, the Sun is in earth sign Capricorn, ruled by Saturn.
Nearby in this earth sign are Venus (love), Saturn (lessons) and Pluto (transformation).
All this solid, stable, grounded Capricorn planetary energy is supportive and has the structure to bring practical wisdom into manifest form.

Sagittarius New Moon

The Winter Solstice is approaching. As the Sun moves into cardinal Earth sign Capricorn on Thursday, Dec. 21, at 11:27 a.m. EST, we experience the shortest day of the year and celebrate the return of the Light.  Saturn leaves the sign of Sagittarius and enters its own sign of Capricorn on Dec. 19.  Mercury ends its three-week retrograde cycle on Dec. 22.
 
The mutable fire sign Sagittarius rules the day as the Sun (solar identity) and Moon (emotions) conjoin. Close by is Saturn (life lessons) at the degree of the Galactic Center.
This makes for a powerful combination that illuminates and inspires.
Mercury (communication) and Venus (love and beauty) also light the sky in Sagittarian energy.  (This is the fire sign ruled by Jupiter, the planet of expansion and blessings.)
